Tell us about your self-employment journey
I couldn’t imagine having it any other way! There’s nothing more empowering than deciding the direction of my own career and life path, sharing my gifts with the world and making an impact by being my true self.
What area of your business are you most passionate about?
Helping people break through their limiting beliefs, excuses and assumptions so they are free to take action on their dreams!
What’s the most valuable thing you learned early in your career that has contributed to your success?
“You can’t be anything you want to be, but you can be a whole lot more of who you already are.” – Tom Rath
How are you pivoting your business during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Not much has changed for my business during the pandemic, as much of my work has been virtual for years! I will say I’ve seen an increase in demand and interest for this work, as many are reevaluating their careers and seeking deeper fulfillment.
What’s a recent project that you’ve worked on that you’re really excited about?
Power by Purpose is my signature group coaching program and it’s near and dear to my heart. I’ve chosen to prioritize group settings for coaching because so much growth and healing takes place when we can be witnessed and held by others. In a way, it gives us permission to be in our humanness and take off the masks. I’m really excited about offering this program to more people in the coming months!
Are you a part of any freelancer communities? Which ones and how do they support you?
I work closely with Preston Smiles and Zion Kim of KaBoom, who lead a community of heart-centered coaches. There’s a beautiful culture of celebration and mutual support – we all want to see each other win and elevate each other each day.
What advice would you give other self-employed people?
Ask for help! We all need it.
How has forming an S Corp helped you level up your business?
It’s helped me level up by deferring to experts and handing off all things finance that take me out of my zone of genius!
